I decided to take a quick shower this morning when we got home from our walk. Sandy was playing very nicely with some toys and I had made sure the door to the basement was shut so she couldn't fall down the stairs.
When I got out of the shower, I could hear her babbling to herself and figured she was just fine. Until I realized it sounded kind of far away. So I grabbed a towel and rushed out to find this:
Yes, she was OUTSIDE on the front porch. Quite happy with herself, too.

Oof! A tad scary there! Katherine got out behind our backs a couple weeks ago. When Alan left for work he found her wandering down the sidewalk a couple houses down.
It's cute but a little scary when you realize they can "roam" more freely than you want them too! Julie used to escape and would run all the way down to the end of the neighborhood when we first moved too T-ville and that's probably where I got into my major locking the door habit because we had to in order to contain her.
Glad she was safe--- I swear there are others looking after our children because the things that 'could' happen to them and don't are incredible and a blessing! We have had several things like that happen and makes me grateful at the time and then a little sick afterwards thinking about the what ifs.... but I need to keep saying my prayers for their safety cuase I am sure there will be more to come!
So did you get dressed before getting her or did you run out in your towel? :)
Ran out in my towel! Yes, very scary! :)
Oh my gosh! Curtis was around 2 when he opened the front door while I was in the shower and was running down the street. We bought one of those chain locks the next day...not to keep people out but to keep little people in!!! So scary!
